The Rites of Spring Youth Expo is both a marketplace and training ground designed to promote entrepreneurship in and cultivate the innate gifts of African American Youth ages 21 years and younger. The Expo provides an alternative to the “College and Career Ready” narrative . It is also a direct way to foster resilience in youth who have experienced childhood trauma also known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s).
All participants will receive business coaching from successful entrepreneurs in the following areas:
how to start and structure your business
financial planning for your business
how to create a pitch for investors
We have 40 spots available to ANY young person interested. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE THEY ARE IN THEIR BUSINESS. It can be in the very beginning stages or already established. We want to help move them to the next level. The cost to participate is $40. In order to qualify for a chance to earn a grant, the participant must attend all workshops and complete all activities. IMPORTANT NOTES
As a youth vendor, you do not have to participate in the workshops to sell at his event.
In order to qualify for the pitch competition and prizes, you must participate in ALL workshops.
